King Faisal Hospital Rwanda’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit is a regional leader in comprehensive women’s health, maternal, and child care. Offering expert, compassionate services across the spectrum from adolescence to menopause, the department is driven by a commitment to safe deliveries, reproductive wellness, and advanced gynecologic treatment.

The service is further strengthened by the newly inaugurated Maternity Pavilion, opened in 2023, which enhances capacity and care quality. This modern facility features:

1. 13 additional beds complementing the 22 beds in the original maternity general ward.
2. 2 fully equipped Operating Rooms (ORs) designated specifically for obstetrics and gynecology procedures.
3. 3 state-of-the-art delivery rooms to ensure comfort and safety during labor.
4. 1 water birthing station for women seeking a more natural and soothing birth experience.

Each month, the department supports over 600 outpatient visits and performs approximately 100 deliveries, with a consistent focus on safe, respectful, and personalized care. Our capabilities have been elevated further with the acquisition of a high-resolution ultrasound system offering advanced 3D and 4D imaging—crucial for detecting fetal anomalies and performing fetal echocardiography during the early and mid-pregnancy stages.
