Step-by-Step Guide: From Admission to Discharge

    1. Admission & Registration
      1. Upon arrival, please visit the Admissions and Registration Desk at the hospital’s main entrance. Our courteous staff will assist you with personal and insurance information, room allocation, payment arrangements, admission documentation, and orientation. Once registration is complete, you’ll be escorted to your assigned room, where our nursing team will help you settle in.
    2. Initial Medical Assessment Shortly after admission, our multidisciplinary medical team will conduct a comprehensive health assessment including your medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests or diagnostic imaging if needed. Based on this, your doctor will design a personalized treatment plan to meet your unique healthcare needs.
    3. During Your Stay Your comfort and recovery are our top priorities. You will receive 24-hour medical and nursing care, access to specialists across various disciplines, emotional and psychological support, and daily medical rounds to review your progress. Our rooms are designed to make you feel at home, with modern amenities for your comfort and dignity.

🛏️ Amenities and Patient Comfort

At King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, we believe that healing begins in a comfortable environment. All patients admitted to our wards enjoy access to high-quality amenities, including:
  • Clean, well-furnished private or semi-private rooms
  • Comfortable beddings and linen
  • Bathing soap and towel provided upon admission
  • Daily room cleaning and linen change
  • 24/7 nurse call system
  • On-site pharmacy and laboratory
⚠️ Note: Outside food is not permitted in the wards. Visitors are kindly requested to maintain silence and avoid photography or video recording.

🌿 Nutrition and Meals

Our in-house catering team prepares nutritious, well-balanced meals under the supervision of clinical dietitians. Each meal plan is tailored to meet your medical and dietary needs. Please inform the nursing team if you have any food allergies or preferences.

🚪 Discharge Process

When your treatment is complete, your doctor will review your recovery and confirm your readiness for discharge. You will then receive:
  • A discharge summary with your diagnosis and treatment details
  • Medication instructions and prescriptions
  • Follow-up appointment schedule
  • Home care or physiotherapy guidance, if needed
Our care doesn’t end when you leave — we remain committed to your recovery through follow-up care and support.

⚠️ Important: For patient safety and comfort, children are not permitted to visit the wards. Monday – Friday
  • Wards: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM | 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • ICU & HDU: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM | 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Saturday & Sunday
  • Wards: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • ICU & HDU: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM | 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
