
EDGAR M KALIMBA MD, MBA, MMED Paed, FCPaedSA, Cert Paed Pulm
Dr Kalimba is a senior clinician, educator, researcher and leader with a long standing history of clinical leadership in the health sector. He graduated from the National university of Rwanda school of medicine in 2007, and joined the pediatric residency in South Africa from 2010 to 2014. He subsequently completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Witwatersrand University Johannesburg in 2015, and has since been providing pediatric and pulmonology medical care. He has served as director, deputy CEO and interim CEO between 2017 and 2021 and also obtained his Master of business Administration-Healthcare management from Oklahoma CU during the same period. He has been pursuing his PhD since 2022 at ULB Brussels, and is currently the principal investigator on 2 key projects; HealthyStart clinical trial aimed at combating early childhood growth faltering/ stunting, and the malaria drug resistance research lab at KFH. He is also faculty at the newly established Africa Health Sciences University.
