Speech and Language Therapy

Welcome to King Faisal Hospital Rwanda’s Speech and Language Therapy services. Our team of highly trained and experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Our goal is to help our patients improve their communication skills and overall quality of life. Our speech therapist focuses on treating speech impairments in adults caused by brain injury, stroke, or other neurological disorders and speech disorders that develop during childhood in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Our Speech and Language Therapy services are tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs. We provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Speech Disorders: We work with patients who have difficulty with articulation, fluency, or voice production. Our
  • Language Disorders: We provide therapy for patients with language disorders, such as aphasia, dyslexia, and developmental language disorders. Our SLPs use evidence-based techniques to help patients improve their comprehension, expression, and overall language skills.
  • Swallowing Disorders: We work with patients who have difficulty swallowing, which can result in choking, aspiration, or malnutrition. Our SLPs use specialized techniques, such as neuromuscular electrical stimulation and swallowing exercises, to help patients improve their swallowing function.
  •  Cognitive-Communication Disorders: We provide therapy for patients with cognitive-communication disorders, such as traumatic brain injury or dementia. Our SLPs use techniques like memory and problem-solving exercises to help patients improve their cognitive function and communication skills.
