Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required: Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipmentAbility to stand for long periodsOutstanding organizational and time management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills | Participate in the counting of the linen as it is collected from the clinical areas for laundering.Participate in the counting of linen as it is packed for delivery on return to the wardsEnsure that any disputes about the quality of the laundering and the number of items returned are reported and resolved.Ensure all laundered lines must be inspected for tears and worn areas and mendedEnsure that all damaged lines that cannot be mended is removed from the system according to the hospital policies and procedures.In consultation with the laundry manager ensure that equipment manuals are utilized.In consultation with the laundry manager ensure that each item of equipment is tested as per manufactures instructions.In consultation with the laundry manager serving of equipment is plannedTo insure that during each shift the washing machines and dries are utilized according to the prescribed weight of the loads, the temperature, and the washing and softening fluids to be utilized. | 2 |
