| CSSD Attendant | EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. Minimum of an Advanced Certificate (A2) in a relevant field. 2. Additionally a certificate in Sterile Processing or Infection Control is an added advantage. 3. At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in sterilization or infection control. SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Knowledge of sterilization techniques (steam, chemical, etc.)Familiarity with autoclaves and other sterilization equipment. 2. Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures. 3. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 4. Ability to maintain accurate records and logs. 5. Physical fitness and ability to lift or transport heavy equipment. 6. Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and compliance with hospital protocols. | 1. Clean, disinfect, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments, linens, and medical supplies using approved procedures and equipment. 2. Operate and maintain steam sterilizing equipment (autoclaves) and ensure correct functioning. 3. Monitor sterilization indicators to confirm the effectiveness of the sterilization process. 4. Store sterilized equipment and supplies properly, ensuring items are readily available for departments like the Operating Theatre. 5. Keep accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory. 6. Report any faulty instruments or equipment for repair or replacement. 7. Adhere strictly to infection control standards and safety procedures. 8. Assist in managing inventory and ordering sterilization materials as needed. | 1 | |
