Dr. Ndayiragije Vincent

About Me:

Dr. Vincent Ndayiragije is a Consultant Internist and Geriatrician with specialized expertise in the comprehensive care of older adults. He is dedicated to promoting healthy aging, preserving functional independence, and enhancing the quality of life of senior citizens through compassionate, evidence-based and patient-centered care.

Dr. Ndayiragije completed his medical school then postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Rwanda before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at Sorbonne Université, France. His fellowship included extensive clinical training at Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), GHU Henri Mondor, where he gained advanced expertise in the global management of complex medical conditions affecting older adults. With a holistic approach to geriatric care, Dr. Ndayiragije specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of age-related health conditions, including frailty, cognitive disorders, dementia, falls, osteoporosis, polypharmacy, multimorbidity, functional decline, and other complex chronic diseases. He works closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that optimize health outcomes while preserving dignity, autonomy, and quality of life.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ndayiragije is a Lecturer in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at both the University of Rwanda and the African Health Sciences University (AHSU). He is actively involved in training undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare professionals and is passionate about strengthening geriatric medicine education and building capacity in geriatrics and gerontology across Rwanda.

His academic and research interests focus on healthy aging, geriatric syndromes, elderly health promotion and strategies to improve the quality of life of older adults. He is committed to advancing geriatrics and gerontology through education, research and evidence-based clinical practice. Dr. Ndayiragije Vincent provides specialized ambulatory geriatric services through dedicated clinics at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda.
