Dr. Evariste Mushuru

About Me:

Dr. Evariste Mushuru is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Physician at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, with more than a decade of expertise in internal medicine, clinical leadership, medical education, and research. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care while contributing to the advancement of healthcare through teaching, research, and health system strengthening.

Dr. Mushuru earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Rwanda in 2012 before pursuing postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the same institution, where he obtained his Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine in 2016. During his residency, he trained across several tertiary referral hospitals in Rwanda, gaining extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of complex acute and chronic medical conditions.

Before joining King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, Dr. Mushuru served as Head of the Medical Department at the University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB), where he played a key role in strengthening clinical services, mentoring junior physicians, and improving patient care. His leadership and dedication to medical excellence have earned him recognition as a respected clinician and educator..

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Mushuru is a Lecturer at both the African Health Sciences University (AHSU) and the University of Rwanda, where he is actively involved in training undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
