Dr. Christine Niyibogora

About Me:

Dr. Christine Niyibogora is a Consultant Anesthesiologist at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, providing expert perioperative anesthesia care, pain management, and critical support for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and procedural interventions. She is a dedicated member of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, where she works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

With a strong commitment to advancing anesthesia services in Rwanda, Dr. Niyibogora has developed expertise in the delivery of safe, patient-centered anesthesia care across diverse surgical specialties. Her clinical approach focuses on individualized care, meticulous perioperative assessment, and the use of evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.

Dr. Niyibogora earned her medical degree from the University of Rwanda and subsequently completed her residency training in Anesthesiology. Following her specialist training, she gained several years of clinical experience caring for patients in Rwanda's healthcare system before joining King Faisal Hospital Rwanda.

Driven by a passion for improving care for children with heart disease, Dr. Niyibogora pursued advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia through the international Save a Child’s Heart program in Israel. This specialized training has equipped her with advanced skills in the anesthetic management of children undergoing complex cardiac procedures and contributes to strengthening Rwanda's growing cardiac care services.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Niyibogora is passionate about medical education, professional development, and healthcare capacity building. She is committed to transferring specialized knowledge and skills that support the development of sustainable pediatric cardiac and anesthesia services in Rwanda and the region.
