About Me:
Dr. Baransabira Marie Goretti is a highly skilled senior Consultant Internist with subspecialty training in Rheumatology, currently practicing at Rwanda Military Referral and Teaching Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2009 and completed her specialization in Internal Medicine at the University of Rwanda in 2017. To further advance her expertise, she obtained a Diploma of Advanced Specialized Medical Training in Rheumatology (Diplôme de Formation Médicale Spécialisée Approfondie – DFMSA) from the University of Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), France, where she completed advanced clinical training at CHU Henri Mondor–Créteil.
With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Baransabira has served in several referral hospitals across Rwanda, providing comprehensive internal medicine services and managing patients with complex chronic diseases and autoimmune disorders. Her clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for patients with rheumatologic and other chronic medical conditions.
Dr. Baransabira is a national trainer in the management of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, as well as chronic non-communicable diseases. She is an active member of the National College of Internists and the Rwanda Physicians Council, where she contributes to the advancement of internal medicine practice and professional standards.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Baransabira is committed to continuous medical education, clinical research, and the mentorship of healthcare professionals. She is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions through multidisciplinary collaboration and lifelong learning.
