Dr. Gihozo Mutangana Justine is a dedicated Junior Registrar in Orthopedic Surgery currently practicing at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda under the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) Residency Program in Orthopedics. Dr. Gihozo earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2021 from Zhejiang University, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical medicine, surgical principles, and evidence-based practice.
Currently undergoing specialist training in Orthopedic Surgery, she is actively involved in the comprehensive management of musculoskeletal conditions, including acute trauma, fracture care, degenerative joint diseases, musculoskeletal infections, and congenital deformities. Her role encompasses emergency orthopedic assessment, perioperative management, surgical assistance in trauma and elective procedures, and postoperative rehabilitation planning. Dr. Gihozo demonstrates growing proficiency in fracture fixation techniques, interpretation of radiological imaging, surgical anatomy, and operative planning. She is committed to maintaining high standards of patient safety and applying up-to-date orthopedic guidelines in clinical decision-making. With a disciplined work ethic and a strong commitment to surgical excellence, Dr. Gihozo has a particular interest in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and aspires to pursue fellowship training in this subspecialty. She is especially motivated to improve outcomes for children with congenital deformities, developmental disorders, pediatric trauma, and limb alignment conditions. Through advanced training, research engagement, and continuous professional development, she aims to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of specialized musculoskeletal care for children. She remains dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care while fostering effective teamwork and collaborative practice within multidisciplinary healthcare settings.
