Dr. Sandra Havyarimana

About Me:

Dr. Sandra Havyarimana is a highly skilled Hematopathologist who has been serving at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda for the past six years. She completed her residency training in Hematopathology at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 2017, where she gained extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of hematological disorders. Following her specialization, Dr. Havyarimana worked in a private diagnostic laboratory, further strengthening her experience in laboratory medicine before joining King Faisal Hospital Rwanda.

Her clinical and diagnostic practice is primarily focused on benign hematological disorders, coagulation abnormalities, and hemoglobinopathies, where she plays a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. As a Hematopathologist, Dr. Havyarimana serves as a critical link between the laboratory and the clinical setting, transforming complex diagnostic findings into clear, actionable information that guides physicians in making informed treatment decisions. Her diagnostic approach integrates morphologic assessment, flow cytometric immunophenotyping, cytogenetic studies, and advanced molecular testing to deliver comprehensive and precise diagnoses.

For Dr. Havyarimana, hematopathology is far more than laboratory science, it is patient-centered medicine practiced at the microscopic level. She believes that every blood sample and every slide represent an individual seeking answers and hope. Through meticulous analysis and diagnostic excellence, she contributes to the early detection, accurate classification, and effective management of hematological conditions, helping to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Driven by a commitment to precision, collaboration, and compassionate care, Dr. Havyarimana continues to advance the field of hematopathology while supporting King Faisal Hospital Rwanda’s mission of delivering world-class healthcare.
