About Me:
Dr. Abdelhay Alsayed is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist with extensive expertise in minimally invasive, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Internationally trained and highly experienced in vascular and interventional radiology, he is recognized for delivering advanced, patient-centered care using innovative techniques that reduce recovery times, minimize procedural risks, and improve clinical outcomes.
Dr. Alsayed holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from Cairo University, where he also served as a Lecturer in Interventional Radiology. Throughout his career, he has developed advanced expertise in a broad range of image-guided procedures, including vascular interventions, interventional oncology, spine interventions, embolization procedures, and other minimally invasive treatments for complex medical conditions.
At King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, Dr. Alsayed plays a key role in expanding access to cutting-edge interventional radiology services. His practice is focused on providing precise, effective, and less invasive treatment options that enhance patient safety, shorten hospital stays, and improve quality of life. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Alsayed is deeply committed to medical education and capacity building. He serves as the Program Director and Coordinator of the Rwanda Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program under the Rwanda Interventional Radiology Initiative (RIRI), where he mentors and trains future interventional radiologists. Through this leadership role, he has contributed significantly to strengthening specialized healthcare services and advancing interventional radiology training in Rwanda and the region.
Dr. Alsayed is also actively engaged in academic and research activities, with a strong interest in advancing the field of interventional radiology through innovation, education, and evidence-based practice. His dedication to both patient care and specialist training has positioned him as a leading contributor to the growth of interventional radiology services in Rwanda.
