Dr. Nyampinga Dyna

About Me:

Dr. Nyampinga Dyna is a Consultant in Internal Medicine with subspecialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, currently practicing at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda as a Consultant Internist, Gastroenterologist, and Hepatologist. She is also the Program Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at the University of Rwanda and serves as faculty at the University of Rwanda and AHSU.

Dr. Dyna earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Rwanda in 2015. She subsequently completed her Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in 2020 and obtained her subspecialty degree in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the University of Rwanda in October 2024.

Following her graduation in 2015, she worked as a Medical Officer at Kibagabaga District Hospital until 2016 before commencing her residency in Internal Medicine. After completing her master's training, she served as an Internal Medicine Specialist at Nyamata Level II Teaching Hospital from December 2020 to August 2022. She then pursued fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Rwanda from September 2022 to September 2024, complemented by international clinical rotations at renowned centers in the United States and India. Upon completing her fellowship, she worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Kigali University Teaching Hospital from November 2024 to November 2025. Since December 2025, she has been serving as a Consultant Internist, Gastroenterologist, and Hepatologist at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda.

Throughout her training and professional career, Dr. Dyna has demonstrated strong leadership skills. She served as Chief Resident during her Internal Medicine residency and Chief Fellow during her Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship. Since September 2025, she has been leading the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at the University of Rwanda as Program Director, contributing significantly to specialist training and curriculum development.

Dr. Dyna has extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of complex gastrointestinal, liver, and general internal medicine disorders. She is highly skilled in both diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy and remains committed to adopting the latest advances in endoscopic technology. Her particular clinical interests include advanced endoscopy, especially Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dyna is actively involved in medical education and research. She has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology and continues to contribute to research aimed at improving patient care and advancing the field.

Dr. Dyna is an active member of the Rwanda College of Physicians, serves as the Vice President of the Rwanda Society of Endoscopy, and is licensed by the Rwanda Medical and Dental Council. She is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care, combining clinical excellence with compassion. Her professional mission is to advance gastroenterology and hepatology practice through exceptional patient care, medical education, leadership, and research.
